What a Solana explorer is for
A blockchain explorer turns ledger data into a searchable interface. You can use it to verify transaction status, inspect addresses, read program activity, check fees and examine logs.
Solana Explorer
Search transactions, addresses, blocks and programs across supported clusters.
Start with the transaction signature
A Solana transaction signature is commonly used as the lookup identifier in an explorer. Paste it into the explorer to inspect whether the transaction succeeded, which accounts signed and which programs executed.
Addresses can represent different account types
An address may refer to a system account, token account, program account or another onchain account. An explorer helps reveal the account owner, SOL balance, data and activity so you can determine what kind of account you are looking at.
Token balance is not the same as token legitimacy
Explorers can display mints and token accounts, but seeing a token onchain does not prove who created it or whether it has value. Verify mint addresses from trusted primary sources rather than relying only on token names or logos.
Make sure you are looking at the right network
Solana Explorer supports different clusters. An address or transaction on Devnet is separate from Mainnet activity, and Devnet SOL has no real-world value. When troubleshooting, confirm the explorer's cluster matches the wallet or application you used.
How developers use an explorer
- Locate the signature. Start from the wallet or application's transaction ID.
- Check status and error. Determine whether failure occurred before or during program execution.
- Read the instruction list. Identify which program was called.
- Inspect logs. Program logs often reveal the failing constraint or custom error.
- Verify accounts. Confirm signers, writable accounts and program addresses match expectations.
Onchain visibility is not an endorsement
An explorer can prove that specific ledger activity occurred. It cannot independently prove that a website is legitimate, that a token issuer is trustworthy or that a financial product is safe.
Solana Explorer questions
Why can't I find my transaction?
Check that the signature is correct and that the explorer is using the same cluster as the transaction. Very recent data can also take a short time to appear through a particular interface.
Can an explorer recover a failed transaction?
No. It can show the failure and logs, but it cannot reverse or retry a transaction for you.
Does an explorer know my identity?
Blockchain data is address-based. Linking an address to a real-world identity requires additional information outside the basic ledger record.
